The Fall 2016 issue of The Iowa Review, the literary magazine based at the University of Iowa, is officially in the world, showcasing the writing of thirty-six established and emerging writers. In the pages of this new issue, expect to find poetry, prose, and artwork that reach “into the unexplored spaces of literature and emotion, digging up our deepest fears and surreal states.”

This exciting new collection features work by Ariel Dorfman, Ruth Madievsky, Max Ritvo, and many more authors who touch on topics as varied as Kafka, Siberia, hornets, personal advocates and lost cats, cancer, and a dinner party. Readers will also find work by Iowa City writers Jennifer Colville, Lauren Haldeman, and Amy Margolis.

The Iowa Review is based in the Department of English, College of Liberal Arts & Sciences, University of Iowa. Founded in 1970, it publishes three print issues per year featuring poetry, fiction, and literary nonfiction. Work from its pages is consistently selected to appear in such anthologies as Best American Essays, Best American Short Stories, Best American Poetry, The Pushcart Prize: Best of the Small Presses, and The PEN/O. Henry Prize Stories.
