With so many summer experiences canceled, we want to make sure that talented young writers like you still have a chance to learn and grow among like-minded budding creatives. We are hard at work putting together an exceptional online experience that is far removed from your typical online class.   

As a Summer Writing Residency (SWR) Online student, you will have access to amazing writing faculty from the University of Iowa - better known as The Writing University and home to the famed Iowa Writers' Workshop and landmark Prairie Lights bookstore. We are located in Iowa City, a UNESCO City of Literature - one of only two in the United States. We may not be able to bring you to Iowa City this year, but we can bring Iowa City to you!   

Along with classmates from across the country, you will have the unique opportunity to work with world-class faculty and build a writing community - all from the comfort of your own home.

You will receive 2 semester hours of graded credit from the University of Iowa. This will appear on an official university transcript that you can add to your portfolio when you start applying to colleges.
