Iowa Youth Writing Project (IYWP) will be kicking off writing workshops and programming in the next month through partnerships with the Achievement Academy at Four Oaks Jane Boyd Community House in Cedar Rapids, Monsoon United Asian Women of Iowa and Nisaa African Women's Project in Des Moines, Indian Hills Community College in Ottumwa, Strive for SuccessNeighborhood Centers of Johnson County, Working Group Theatre, Horace Mann Elementary School, Mark Twain Elementary School, and the University of Iowa International Writing Program in Iowa City.... and there are even more opportunities to come!

IYWP is especially excited to announce and celebrate that the University of Iowa College of Liberal Arts & Sciences Frank N. Magid Undergraduate Writing Center has been granted a Better Futures For Iowans award to fund a 2-year pilot program of collaborative community outreach in partnership with the Iowa Youth Writing Project. This initiative, which is supported primarily by the Office of the Provost, will build on the IYWP's current efforts by securing, expanding, and deepening the impact its programs have on the youth of our state while also introducing UI students and faculty to a life of community engagement.
