Each year, roughly 30 emerging and established writers from around the world travel to Iowa City, IA, a UNESCO City of Literature, for a ten-week residency at the University of Iowa’s International Writing Program. Writers in residence participate in reading tours that introduce American writers to other cultures, fostering global artistic exchange.
