As a subcollection of the University of Iowa's Daily Palette project, "Iowa at 30 Frames per Second" highlights the efforts of Iowa's video artists and features work directly streamed to your computer. In this edition, the short film Sacred and Profane, by A. Hooboe Schott, focuses on a native prairie remnant—a kind of quintessentially Iowan space that scarcely exists anymore, and examines the diverse and overlapping ways in which we understand the value of significant spaces.
Schott works as a PhD student in the College of Education at The University of Iowa, studying identity, language, and new literacies, and as a teacher in an Cedar Rapids high school teaching language arts and new literacies.
